Budding entrepreneurs will have the chance to let their imaginations run wild when Startup Weekend hits Santiago on March 22-24th.
“No talk, all action. Launch a startup in 54 hours”, is the tagline for Startup Weekend Santiago, a 54-hour event that pulls together developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups.
After meeting up and sharing ideas on the Friday night, the teams get to work on Saturday and after a frenzy of activity will emerge with a business that is ready to be launched. Mentors will offer their experience along the way and a panel of judges will vote for the winners on the Sunday.
The event has already attracted a number of leading local and international sponsors, such as Google, Microsoft, Startup Chile, CORFO and Universidad de Chile.
Santiago is quickly becoming the Silicon Valley of Latin America, with entrepreneurs from across the globe moving to the city as part of the internationally recognised Start-Up Chile. This, combined with recent legislation changes meaning a company can become incorporated within a day, mean that there is a vibrant entrepreneurial culture growing in the city and Startup Weekend Santiago intends to plug into this.
“Since arriving in Santiago as part of Startup Chile, I’ve been really surprised by the variety, enthusiasm and buzz around startup culture,” said organiser David Truong. “I think the potential is there for some really good ideas, so I can’t wait to see the teams push themselves to the limits and come up with some great startups in this crazy weekend!”
Startup Weekend Santiago promises to be an intense, exhilarating weekend packed with great ideas and exciting personalities, so make sure you get your tickets now.
